"The Odd Couple" of sports radio, straight man Craig Shemon is joined by James Washington, probably the wildest member of the great Dallas Cowboy teams that won three Super Bowls in the 1990's. Washington spent years hitting the town with acclaimed partiers like "The Playmaker." Michael Irvin, and made one of the most crucial plays in Cowboys history by returning Thurman Thomas' third quarter fumble for a touchdown in Super Bowl XXVIII. When these two opposites get together, it makes for great radio.

Craig's Bio

1. Why did you get into radio?

I decided when I was in third grade that I wanted to be a sportscaster.  I knew back then that I did not want a "normal job."

2. What is your favorite part of your job?

I get paid to sit in a padded, air-conditioned room with four televisions and talk about sports and life for three hours.  How great is that?

3. Who is your favorite athlete of all time?

Barry Sanders

4. Which teams did you root for growing up?

Detroit Lions, Tigers, Pistons, U of Michigan and Indiana University.

5. What is the biggest sports rivalry in the country and why?

Michigan-Ohio State...enough said.

6. What is the greatest athletic event you have ever seen?

I was on the Ohio State sideline for the BCS Championship/Fiesta Bowl against Miami when the penalty flag from heaven came down and gave OSU another chance at the title.

10. If you were not working in radio, what would you be doing?

Might be doing something financial for Fidelity Investments or something.

 11. Who has been the biggest influence in your career?

The first voice I remember hearing on the radio was that of Hall of Fame broadcaster Earnie Harwell calling Tiger baseball on WJR Detroit.  About 30-plus years later, I got to meet him in Southern California before a Tigers-Angels game and he let me sit next to him for the entire game.  Very cool.  I also admired the play-by-play voice of my alma mater (Indiana University) Don Fischer.

17. Career Highlights

I've been broadcasting for 23 years.  I'm proud to say I've been with Fox Sports radio since its inception in 2000.  Currently, I co-host the network's morning show, "Out of Bounds" with former Dallas Cowboy, James Washington.  Frankly, I could not ask for a better partner and friend. The highlight of my career was broadcasting a couple of football games for the NFL on FOX in 2005.  Prior to 2000, I was the play-by-play announcer for football, basketball, and baseball for The Citadel Military College in Charleston, South Carolina.  I was also the Program Director of two sports stations in Charleston.  Prior to that, I was a sportscaster, newscater, DJ, and/or talk show host at various stations in Indiana.  Early in my career, the Associated Press named me the best play-by-play announcer in the state of Indiana.
